  • Mechanical and Electrical Nightmare

    The Escalade is beautiful on the outside and the interior is comfortable and spacious, but this the most unreliable vehicle I have owned in 25 years of driving. On multiple occasions my wife has been stranded because the car wont start because of electrical issues. 3 batteries replaced in 4 months, a car alarm that randomly goes off and drains the battery. Theft deterrent system shuts down car for no reason and wont allow us to start it. All and I mean all of the plastic exterior components have been replaced under warranty. Electronic running boards have locked in the down positions and both needed replaced. Electronic talegate motor failed and had to be replaced. Water leaked in through the talegate and caused damage. I spend more time in the warranty vehicle the dealer provides than I do in the car I am paying for. Dont be drawn in to the beautiful design...you will regret it.

    I purchased as a 1 year old certified pre-owned. It has been perpetually broken and Ive literally suffered with this vehicle for 16 months. Monthly service visits for repairs including repeats for same issues. Terrible vehicle!!
  • TRANSMISSION IS HORRIBLE

    This car was serviced countless times. The loaners had the same problem. When braking the transmission would give you a jolt, making it seem like you had been rear ended. I took the car to the dealer countless times. Finally I filed a Lemon Law complaint. Cadillac took the car back and refunded a good portion of the money without having to go to a hearing. When I returned the car to the dealer, the manager that completed the paper work advised me that the transmission problem was ongoing and they hadnt figured out what was wrong with it. This happened mid year in 2015 when they had a model change. This car is great for long trips if you have a large family, but for driving in the city with the thumping transmission its not fun. I went back to a german SUV and am considering the GM Yukon at present since it doesnt have the same transmission.
